ASSIST & SUPPORT:


  • Performs audits upon request
  • Assists with annual IRS filings, budgets, etc.
  • Installs local PTA unit officers upon request
  • Awards college scholarships
  • Hosts Children's Awards Day
  • Provides PTA unit liaisons as a consultant for local unit PTAs
INFORM:


  • Distributes the State Resource Guide to every PTA President
  • Publishes a Caddo District Directory 
  • Provides speakers at District PTA General Meetings
  • Serves on Committees such as:  Discipline Review, Special Education, School Safety, Drug Education, Superintendent Search & Reformation Zone.
RECOGNITION:


  • Oversees contests such as Reflections & Safety Poster
  • Hosts a Principal's Luncheon
  • Honors volunteers at a Founder's Day Celebration
  • Awards 6 scholarships to deserving seniors
  • Rewards adults through contests for educators and more.
  • Publicizes awards & honors
ADVOCATE:


  • Attends School Board meetings
  • Brings District-wide education & student issues / concerns to the School Board's attention
  • Collaborates with community organizations and leaders
  • Influences local policy & state legislation through resolution and public outreach.

THE CADDO DISTRICT PTA DO?


The Caddo District PTA is dedicated to providing opportunities for local unit PTAs to impact the quality of education of every child in Caddo Parish.

The mission of the PTA is to support & speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental agencies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children; to assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise & protect their children; and to encourage parent & public involvement in the public and charter schools of this nation.
