WHAT CADDO DISTRICT PTA DOES FOR LOCAL UNITS
We are dedicated to providing an opportunity for you to impact the quality of education of your child and every child in Caddo Parish.
Inform:
- Distributes the state resource guide to every PTA President with an interactive CD
- Publishes approximately eight newsletters, a calander and a resource directory
- Provides speakers at monthly district meetings on school related subjects (Website safety, LEAP Testing, school safety, bulk mailing, community programs)
- Represents local PTA and voices thoughts through serving on School Board Committees such as:

Special Education
School Calendar
Student/Teacher of the Year
Superintendent Search

Assist and Support:
- Exemption of Federal income taxes to local units that are in good standing with the PTA under provision of section 501c (3).
- Offers audits and guidance on budgets, fundraising, and other financial matters.
- Will install PTA officers at your school when needed.
- Provides clothes and other necessities for children in need.
- Gives college scholarships to several Caddo high school seniors. Awarded yearly, typically 3-7 per year.
- Provides PTA liaison persons as a consultant at local schools.
- Provides for a luncheon at the Children's Awards Day
- Support parent involvement
Recognition:
- Provides two contests for students (Safety Poster, and Reflections).
- Award contest winners via a trophy ceremony and enters local winners in state competitions. The state may advance some entries to the National PTA competition.
- Provides a Principals' Luncheon.
- Provides a Founder's Day Banquet to celebrate our volunteers and Memberscrolls and Life Service Recipients.
- Reward the adult effort through contests for educators, newsletters, websites, outstanding units and grandparents.
- Publicizes the accomplishments of all awards and honors.
