EDUCATION BASED GRANTS
We know school funds are tight and that our local PTA's can only do so much. So, we've compiled a list of educational based grants to help local PTA's meet the needs of their students and school communities. If you know of a grant that hasn't been listed, please contact Eppie Adams or Margie Rayburn and we'll add it to our list
PTA HEFALTHY LIFESTYLES GRANT:
Help fight childhood obesity with good nutrition and regular physical activity. PTAs can play an important role in the school community by engaging families, teachers, administrators and students in programs and activities that encourage physical activity & healthier foods.
AMOUNT: Up to ten grants of up to $1,000 each
DEADLINE: Thursday, September 8, 2011 @ 5:00 p.m. EDT

MARY LOU ANDERSON REFLECTIONS ARTS ENHANCEMENT GRANT PROGRAM:
Funds are provided to local PTAs to establish or enhance arts programs in one or more arts areas: visual arts, photography, music (including dance), and literature (including theater).
AMOUNT: Up to three grants of up to $1,000 each

LOWE'S TOOLBOX FOR EDUCATION:
Lowe's awards grants & provides tools to help educators & parent groups make an impact on their school community. In 2011-2012, basic needs will take priority.

"TAKE YOUR FAMILY TO SCHOOL WEEK" AWARDS:
National PTA® offers grants to PTAs to implement programs that engage families in the school community. These grants can be used to build positive partnerships with teachers and families, connect parents to their children’s school experiences, and give children fun ways to share what they are learning and doing in class with their families.
AMOUNT: Up to 45 grants of up to $1,000 each

THE BIG HELP GRANT PROGRAM
"MILLION DOLLARS FOR A MILLION MOVES":
Nickelodeon will award $1M in grants to schools and community organizations enabling kids around the country to achieve the goal of a million acts of help. The Big Help Grant Program will support projects that inspire kids to (1) take care of the environment; (2) lead active, healthy lives; (3) engage in community service; or (4) improve their educational experience.
AMOUNT: $2,500 Grant and/or a $5,000 Matching Grant
DEADLINE: December 31, 2011

MATCHED FUNDS FROM PROMETHEAN:
Raise funds to acquire state-of-the art classroom equipment! Promethean will match the amount raised by the local PTA, up to $3,800, towards the purchase of any combination of qualifying ActivClassroom products. A minimum of $200 must be raised through your PTA's fundraising efforts to take advantage of this promotion./p>
AMOUNT: Up to $3,800 in matching funds
