Fairfield Back to School Bulldog Bash
We held the Fairfield Back to School Bulldog Bash on August 12th. The PreK, K and 1st grade parent informational meetings were held from 2-4 and the Bash began ran from 4:30-6:30. The class lists are posted and the teachers ARE NOT present. Parents bring their child's school supplies, find our which teacher they have, and set the supplies outside the teacher's door. This has been a huge success for all involved! The teachers love having the majority of their classroom supplies before the first day.
We had the following PTA committees set up at tables or available for purchase: spirit wear, membership, yearbook, carnival tickets, birthday bags, fundraising had raffle tickets for "fast pass through the car pool" and "reserved seating for musical performances", and donations could be made to classroom teachers or the library. We use a "One Form" which has every item they could purchase or donate listed. They take this completed form to the treasurer's table. The treasurer verifies the total amount, accepts payment (this was the first year we accepted credit cards! 31 were processed), and copies the form onto yellow paper. The yellow paper is their paid receipt which they take to each table to pick up their items. Parents love this because they can write one check and have one receipt.
