Caddo District PTA has several changes we need to make all PTA Presidents/Principals aware of.
On our website we have a form for you to submit your new or returning president’s information. We need this information as soon as possible to be able to keep you updated and to submit your name to the Louisiana PTA as well as National PTA
To be a “Unit is Good Standing” each PTA/PTSA unit must purchase a minimum of 30 cards. This is an increase from the 25 that has been required in the past. To participate in any program, i.e., Reflections, Safety Poster, your unit must be in good standing by the program deadline.
The 2008 National PTA Reflections Program theme is “Wow!” The Reflections Program entries will be due to the Caddo District PTA on November 11, 2008. This is one month earlier than last year. Be sure to set your deadline before November 11, 2008 to have entries judged at your school first. Caddo District PTA must submit the winning entries to LA PTA by January 5, 2009, which has to have them to the National PTA by February 16, 2009.
Information about the Reflections Program is on the Caddo District website so that students can work on their entries during the summer vacation and early school year. Remember the website forms may be typed on and printed out so that all of the information needed will be on them. If they are not filled out completely you will be disqualified. There are several changes to the guidelines, so please read carefully the section that you plan on participating in and be sure to meet the new guidelines.
The theme for the Safety Drawing Program is “Be Safe, Think Smart.” The Safety Drawing Program will be due to the Caddo District PTA by January 6, 2009. The district has to submit them to the Louisiana PTA by February 2, 2009.
Entries for Resolutions and changes to LAPTA Bylaws,Newsletter, Educator of Distinction, Website, Outstanding Unit and Honor Unit, and Louisiana PTA Scholarship will be due on Monday, February 2, 2009
