PURPOSE

To assist at least three graduating seniors entering a Louisiana college or university.

AMOUNT

$500.00 shall be the amount set aside for each scholarship offered by the Caddo District Parent Teacher Association. The scholarship is a one time award only.

All scholarship award checks will be made payable to Louisiana University or College and submitted for the recipient's 2010 Fall semester. If for any reason the student is unable to enroll in a Louisiana college for the fall semester, the scholarship shall be returned to Caddo District PTA.

APPLICATIONS

Will be provided for all public high schools in Caddo District with an organized PTA which has met the requirement of "Unit In Good Standing" with Caddo District PTA. Publicity should be given in each school as to the availability for this scholarship. Applications will be available through the senior counselor of the high school.

DEADLINE

All applications to be considered by the committee must be postmarked by March 16, 2012. Scholarship recipients will be announced at the May 3, 2011 Caddo District PTA meeting.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPLICANTS

• Applicant must be a graduating senior in a Caddo Parish public high school with an organized PTA
• Applicant must have leadership ability including good character and personality.
• Applicant must have proven scholastic achievement and a grade point average of 2.5 or above.
• Applicant must plan to attend a Louisiana college or University.
